As a Landscape Architect, I appreciate how a well-designed open space adds value to people’s lives and wellbeing. I also appreciate the positive impact it can have in commercial terms. A property located near to a well-designed green space or a house attached to a lovely garden will have a significantly higher appeal and will add commercial value to that property.
I have always had a love of the natural world from a very young age, so a career in Landscape and Garden Design seemed like a natural path to follow. This path led to an 18-year career in Landscape Architecture working for both public and private clients. l have been privileged to have worked on some exciting and challenging schemes covering the residential, educational and commercial sectors across the UK.
I have worked at TEP-The Environment Partnership where I worked with environmental planners, ecologists and arboriculturalists and more recently at Broadway Malyan where I worked with architects, engineers and contractors on site.
Since having a family of my own in Manchester, my passion for smaller scale projects has grown and my love of gardens and gardening has been re-ignited in recent years. As a result, I set up as a free-lance Landscape Architect and Garden Designer in January 2018. This has allowed me more freedom to undertake domestic garden design commissions in the South Manchester and Stockport area alongside the commercial landscape projects which I still like to work on.
